This is Thomas Burrell, President of the Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association. There will be a meeting this coming Monday, November 20th at the Holiday Inn Conference Center located at 3700 Central Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. This meeting will start at 10:00 A.M. and end at 1:00 P.M.

BFAA has filed a lawsuit in Federal Court[1] against the Department of Agriculture arguing that the 40 page application in the 2.2 Billion Dollar settlement[2] will deny tens of thousands of Black Farmers and landowners of the $50,000 settlements.

However, more importantly, unlike Pigford I and Pigford II, the application does not allow for an heir or child of a decease person to inherit their ancestor’s settlement funds.

We cannot allow the USDA to ignore the basic God given and constitutional right[3] for the children or heirs to inherit from their parents and/or grandparents estates. This is what generational wealth is all about.

Again, meet us at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, on Central Avenue   across from the University of Memphis this coming Monday at 10:00 o’clock so we can correct the flaws in the process. Thanks you!
